Wild lettuce is one of the common names of Lactucavirosa – a biennial flowering plant from the sunflower family Asteraceae. The species is related to common lettuce (Lactuca sativa) and its tree looks similar to that of prickly lettuce. However, it grows much higher – up to 7 feet, and is also stouter.
Wild lettuce is also known as bitter lettuce, great lettuce, tall lettuce, and opium lettuce.
